Course Description: Designed by a real estate professor, this course offers an introduction to the fundamentals of real estate development. A conceptual framework for ground‑up and value‑add development is provided, using a generalized approach that applies to many different property types. The content includes 164 minutes of video instruction, along with incremental knowledge checks to be completed remotely at your own pace. This course is intended as the first course in a series, providing the foundational knowledge for those interested in learning more about commercial and residential development.

Course Type: This continuing education course is an independent‑study, computer‑based course that meets the continuing education requirements for a real estate salesperson in the State of Georgia, providing 3 hours of education credit. Students who complete this course will have a need for further study and development of practical skills through ongoing professional education and brokerage‑specific training programs.

Prerequisites: None.

Criteria for Successful Completion of the Course: This is a self‑paced course that relies on mastery‑based grading, meaning that students must demonstrate mastery of one segment of the content before transitioning to the next segment. Mastery of the content is demonstrated through incremental quizzes and knowledge checks. The student must answer 100% of the questions on each incremental knowledge check correctly before moving to the next segment of the material. In mastery‑based grading, students have unlimited opportunities to retake a knowledge check until it is successfully passed. Knowledge check questions on subsequent attempts will often differ from prior attempts, as they are randomly drawn from a test bank for a particular knowledge area. The student must personally complete all instructional modules required to demonstrate mastery of the material and sign the required certification statements within 180 days of purchasing the course.

Time to Complete the Course: Students have up to 180 days from the date of purchasing the course to complete the course.

Affidavit: Students are required to complete an affidavit swearing that they are the individual who completed all sections of this course. Any student who is discovered to have cheated during the course or to have misrepresented learner identity forfeits their right to continuing education credit hours earned in this course and will be promptly reported to the Georgia Real Estate Commission.

Certificate: Immediately following course completion, students will receive an email connecting them to a certificate from Wiley Real Estate School indicating course completion.

CE Credits: Upon course completion, student certification of course completion will be sent electronically to the Georgia Real Estate Commission within three business days. Students can verify continuing education credit hours by logging into the Georgia Real Estate Commission website: www.grec.state.ga.us.

Attendance: Student attendance in this course is tracked based on the successful completion of each module, which includes recorded video explanations, descriptive narratives, incremental quizzes (including interactive scenarios and knowledge checks), and the final exam. There is no in‑class instruction required for the completion of this course.

Is there a final exam? No.

Refund Policies: All course purchases are final sales and non‑refundable.
